Achievement: British scientists made Covid Alarm, now corona infected will be identified in 15 minutes without investigation

 

Without getting tested for corona, it is almost impossible to confirm which person is infected with corona virus and who is not.

However, scientists from Britain's London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Durham University have succeeded in creating a device that will tell in just 15 minutes whether someone inside the room is corona infected or  No.If the room is large, then this device will take 30 minutes to identify the corona infected.

Explain that this device identifies the infected by detecting the chemicals released from the skin and breath.

The device will recognize the infected even if there are no symptoms of Covid
The accuracy level of the results in the device ranges from 98 to 100% depending on the testing of the device.

That is, it is capable of giving information about corona infected with much more accuracy than corona's RT-PCR and antigen test.  Scientists told that even if the person does not have symptoms of corona, this device recognizes the infected.

However, the preliminary results of the test of the device are yet to be reviewed.

This device will prove to be very effective for detecting infection in public places and identifying other epidemics other than corona in future.

How does this device work?

This device identifies the infected by detecting chemicals released from the skin and inhaled.  The virus causes changes in the volatile organic compounds, causing body odor.

The sensors in the device recognize this smell. Later this device sends the information of infection to the authorized person through message.

5.15 lakh is a device 

Steve Lindsay, professor of bioscience at Durham University, said that each disease has a different smell.

The smell of corona infected and normal people is different.  Because of this our work became easy.

He told that the device is worth around Rs 5.15 lakh, but it is not a huge amount to identify such deadly epidemics.

This device, which gives information about corona infected, may prove useful for screening in the cabins, classrooms, care centers, homes and offices of aircraft in the coming times.

This device is named as Covid Alarm and its size is slightly more than smoke alarm.
