The Taiwanese government has reported that 28 Chinese aircraft, including fighter jets and nuclear bombs, have entered its air defense base (ADIZ) in the largest 'incursion' to date.

In a statement released on the website of the Taiwan National Department of Defense, the nation revealed the alleged violation of its ADIZ by the Chinese Communist People's Liberation Army.

Taiwan, which China considers part of the country, reported an increase in Chinese fly-overs in recent months, including 25 PLA planes that entered ADIZ in April, just days after 10 jets entered the defensive zone of the island.

Beijing has not yet accepted the reported task, but it comes just days after a group of G7 leaders issued a joint statement "urging China to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms." The G7 talks were seen as a direct focus on China's behavior around the South China Sea and Taiwan.

China responded in a statement to the G7 on Monday, expressing "deep dissatisfaction" with the criticism, which Beijing said was "a serious violation of fundamental international relations." Commenting on the protests raised by the G7, China defended its actions, saying it would "strongly defend national sovereignty, security and development."

In early June, China and the United States clashed over a visit to Taipei by three American senators on a military transport plane. The two Democrats and one Republican met with Taiwanese officials during a three-hour trip to the island, in what the Chinese Ministry of Defense described as a "political show" and "serious political outrage."
