Ukraine Parliament expel its Health Minister over poor management of the Covid-19 crisis

Ukraine health Minister Maksym Stepanov

The Ukraine Parliament on Tuesday dismissed the Health Minister of the country over the poor management of the health system during the Covid-19 crisis. Maksym Stepanov was appointed as health minister of the country in March 2020 in the view of taking the country forward.

Maksym Stepanov was heavily criticized over the issue of controlling the Covid-19 pandemic by the common public and demanded to be dismissed from the post. Ukraine is considered one of the poorest countries in the European continent. A total of 292 lawmakers voted and out of the 226 voted for the eviction of the Health Minister.

Ukraine was hit by the pandemic and Ukraine also lacks efficiency in the vaccination drive in the country which resulted in the growth of anger among the common people against the government and Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

The Ukraine Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, who initiated the dismissal of the Health Minister Maksym Stepanov, stated to the parliament that “Stepanov was responsible for the unsatisfactory pace of the vaccination against the Covid-19 and other failures in the vaccine procurement.” The words of the Prime Minister against the removal of one of the major Ministers of the government have generated sympathy and feeling of Country first policy among the people of Ukraine.

Therefore, these types of steps are needed to be taken and as a result that Ukraine finally won the trust of its people by removing the Health Minister of the country over mismanagement and inappropriate behavior. This type of attitude is much needed for the country in the growth where the opposition of the country must participate in the matters and stand with the government.
