The Punjab and Haryana High Courts have ruled that social cohesion is morally and socially acceptable while rejecting an application by a couple who have fled and seeking the protection.

Applicants Gulza Kumari (19) and Gurwinder Singh (22) on the petition have stated that they are living together and intend to get married soon.

They had risked their lives for Kumari's parents.

"In fact, the applicants' dress applicants are now seeking a sign of approval in their relationship, which is morally and socially unacceptable and no protection order against this application is filed. The application has also been dismissed," Judge HS Madaan said in a May 11 order.

According to the defense attorney J S Thakur, Singh and Kumari lived together in Tarn Taran district.

He said Kumari's parents, from Ludhiana, were not in a good relationship.

The couple could not get married as Kumari's documents, which contain details of her age, were owned by her family, added Thakur.
