Israel and Palestine, conflict of middle-east 'Dead Sea' : A History of Complications and War

It is a 100 years old war between Israel and Palestine. The conflict was started in 1927 when the British foreign secretary Arthur James Balfour expressed support of Britain for the Jewish in Palestine and didn't have concern for the non-Jewish communities rights in Palestine in Balfour declaration. Britain promised Arabs to handover the Palestine to Arabs but After the British forces was leaving the Palestine in 1948. United Nations showed a plan of partition of Jewish and non-Jewish (Arabs) states in Palestine. This plan had accepted by many Jews but the Arabs did not accept the partition.
 

WAR TIMELINE in HISTORY

• Arabs–Israel war (1948-49 ) In this war Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan unanimously attacked on Israel. Despite being alone, Israel won this war, gained land and extended its boundaries. Due to this war GAZA got under Egypt and Jordan got the control of WEST BANK. In this war Israel won almost 50 percent Palestine land.

• Six days war (1973) In this war Egypt, Jordan and Syria planned to attack on Israel but Israel forces were now used PREEMPTIVE STRIKES (surprise attack) against these countries. Due to this prior experience of surprise attack Israel won the war and captured GOLAN HEIGHTS from Syria, GAZA or SINAI PENINSULA from Egypt and WEST BANK from Jordan.

• YOM KIPPUR war (1973) Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in Judaism. On this day Syria and Egypt attacked on Israel. Syria and Egypt attacked on Israel for regain of lost part of lands, in 1967 war. Due to this war SINAI PENINSULA returned to Egypt and Egypt recognizes Israel as a state. This recognition was a victory for Israel.

FOUNDATION OF PLO(PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION)

PLO was founded in 1964 to carry on on struggle for independence Palestine through armed struggle. This organization was famous for its terror or tactics like
plane hi hackings. PLO was declared terrorist organization in 1987 by U.S.A for its terror activities. In 1993 the PLO recognized Israel’s RIGTS TO EXIST in peace. In response, Israel recognized the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people.

COMPLICATIONS RELATED TO ISRAEL

• Status of Jerusalem, Jerusalem is the holy site of Jews, Muslims and Christians. In Jerusalem population is divided into EAST part mostly Muslims population and WEST part Jewish population is living. In the centre of Jerusalem the holy shrines is situated. Israel controls the Jerusalem. Jerusalem is not accepted by many international countries as Israel capital.

• Palestinian refugees Large numbers of Palestinian refugees stay in Syria, Jordan, Egypt and many other Arabs countries houses refugee camps.

• Israeli settlement in WEST BANK.

• Israel’s military occupation of west bank land.

• Most important issue blockading of GAZA.

CURRENT POSITION OF ISRAEL

ON 8 MAY 2021, Israeli police attacks Palestinians at AL-AQUSA mosque to evacuate the protests, hiding in the Mosque. After the attack the tensions grew between the Israel and Palestine. On Tuesday as Israel unleashed airstrikes on GAZA while militants barraged southern Israel with rockets. Rockets fired by militants from HAMAS and the Islamic JIHAD, a small Palestinian group targeted the Israeli cities too.
 

POSSIBLE WAY FORWARD

1. First, (2 state solutions) the 2 state solutions may be based on UN resolution of 1947. 
2. SECOND, its time needed to Palestine and Israel to come together for a peaceful solution. 
3. THIRD, make balanced approach between issues of land and stop violence of Israel and Palestine. 
4. FOURTH, maintain good relations with neighbor country by agreement and negotiations.
