New Delhi : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to organize the remaining 31 matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, ie IPL, in the UAE's three stadiums.
If this happens, then the BCCI will have to organize the T20 World Cup in India.
The reason behind this is that there are only three stadiums in the UAE and consecutive matches cannot be organized there.
Actually, the remaining 20 matches of Pakistan Super League i.e. PSL are to be played in Abu Dhabi.
If all goes well, then 31 matches of IPL will also be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi of UAE. In this way, a total of 51 matches will be played on three grounds. Also, if T20 World Cup is shifted from India to UAE, then 45 matches will be of T20 World Cup.
Thus, it is impossible to successfully conduct 96 consecutive matches on three grounds.
According to the BCCI, there may not be 20 matches of PSL, but in September-October, 31 matches of IPL 2021 and then 45 matches of T20 World Cup will definitely be in focus.
76 matches are possible on three grounds in three months time, but it is very difficult to get the pitch and ground ready so quickly for the matches.
If this happens, the pitches will continue to slow down and there will be no thrill in the matches.The same happened during IPL 2020.
Except for the initial matches held on the small ground of Sharjah, scores of 200 or more were scored in very few matches.
In such a situation, if there is a low scoring match in the T20 World Cup, then the spectators who sit at home and watch the match will not like it.
Even the International Cricket Council (ICC) will not ask that so many matches be played in only three places in such a short time.
In such a situation, BCCI will have to consider hosting the tournament in India itself.
