The
monstrous surge in the Covid-19 cases across the country witnessed several big
changes in the day-to-day life of the people. In the ongoing second wave of the
Covid-19, India reports 259170 fresh Covid-19 cases whereas 1761 died due to
the Pandemic. The spread of the virus at a massive level leads the government
to take some strict steps to ensure public safety.
After
Delhi, Jharkhand also imposed the lockdown in view to put obstacles in the
chain of the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Jharkhand government-imposed
lockdown for a weeklong 8 days starting from April 22 to April 29. CM Hemant
Soren chaired a high level meeting at Ranchi and said that this period of
lockdown is recognized as the “health safety week”.
On
the other hand, the Maharashtra government is also planning to impose the
lockdown this week if the Covid-19 situation persists.
Meanwhile,
the Union government postponed the UGC NET exam which was scheduled to be held
on May 2. Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank advised NTA to
postpone the exams as the country is witnessing the surge in Covid-19 cases.
Earlier,
the central government also postponed the 12 board examinations and canceled
the 10th boards due to the ongoing surge in Covid-19 cases. The central
government believes that the youth must be secured as they are the only hope of
the nation in the coming future.
Consequently,
this mammoth spike in Covid-19 cases forced the government to impose those
restrictions which are against their ideology as the AAP and Congress
government earlier said that the Lockdown policy is very harmful for a
developing nation.
