Petition Seeking Removal of 26 Verses of Quran Dismissed, Imposed Fine of 50 Thousand: Supreme Court, India

Wasim Rizvi, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board, had filed a petitionin the SC for the removal of the 26 verses of the Quran. A bench headed by justice RF Nariman in the SC heard the petition on Monday and after that, the SC dismissed the petition filed against the verses of The Quran and also imposed a fine of 50000 rupees. The petitioner's counsel said during the hearing that I know all elements about this SLP but the SC said that this SLP is not writ and how serious are you with your petition. Counsel for the petitioner said that the only objective of teaching these verses in the Madrasas is so that they can later prepare the terrorist at the international level. On this, the SC said that this is a baseless petition with this, the supreme court dismissed it.

CLAIM: INTEGRITY AND UNITY ARE THREATENED BY THESE VERSES

Before filing the petition, the petitioner Rizvi sent this attention to the original questions and copy of the petition to 56 registered Islamic organizations and institutions across the country to clear their stand. Rizvi said in his petition that if the name of the Muslim community is to be removed from terrorist activities, then the removal of these 26 verses of The Quran is important. As these 26 verses encourage the terrorist at the international level. Wasim Rizvi said that ' Allah Ta'ala' has said the words of brotherhood, love, openness, equality, forgiveness, tolerance throughout the' PAK QURAN' then how can we say things that raise the guilt, hatred, and fanaticism in these 26 verses? and further says that Muslim youths are being instigated by using these verses. Because of this, there is a threat to the unity and integrity of the country.
